A few years after returning, still determined to combine my home with my heart, I reached out to Il Papiro - a company that embodied everything that I loved about Florence. Quality, Craftsmanship and Tradition. Bonding with the founders was easy and in 2002 I found the perfect little store for my Florentine dream. Degraves Street was ideal, with Flinders Street station at one end, the Majorca Building at the other and umbrella lined cafes in between, this was Europe in Melbourne!
Of course, one cannot do all of this alone, and it is with so much gratitude to the gentile Maria that has been by my side since almost the beginning. There has been the unwavering support from the Il Papiro Firenze team, who unsurprisingly have become like family.
After all these years, Il Papiro remains more than just a business. It’s a lifestyle, it’s part of my identity, my place in this big little world. Il mio stare bene…
